OUR ESTATE
At the Puech Roques estate, the challenge is matched by the infectious energy of the three
co-managers: beautiful vineyards, wines that are already well-known, but a winery that is still basic and under construction. In 10 years, the estate will be handed over to Arnaud, an oenologist, partner, and future owner of the estate. "This gradual transfer will allow Arnaud to get started, build, and have time to make the project viable. For Christine and me, it's a way of giving meaning to what we do, by supporting a young oenologist over the long term," explains Stéphane Gautrot, co-manager of the estate.
Whether AOP Gaillac, IGP, or Vin de France, Puech Roques offers two ranges :
- A range of three lieux-dits and a varietal wine with a unique aging process, reflecting the typical characteristics of the Gaillac terroir.
- A pleasure range, "P'tit Roques," featuring light, fruity wines
A land to live in
Working organically and respecting biodiversity were non-negotiable starting points for the team. "Our roadmap: plant trees, rethink crops... everything to help the vines better withstand climatic shocks." Next to the vines, the new plots will be planted with hedges, oaks, hazelnut trees, olive trees...".
From the business world to pruning vines
Domaine Puech Roques embodies a unique story: that of three wine enthusiasts who were never destined to meet, but who chose to embark on a journey together around a shared dream.
Stéphane, head of an industrial consulting firm, and Christine, a manager in aeronautical testing, were not destined to cultivate vines. However, in 2022, when they discovered the terraced vineyards of Lavaux during a trip to Switzerland, the decision came almost naturally: "We wanted to do something more in line with our deepest desires," summarizes Christine. In 2024, they met Arnaud, an encounter orchestrated by Safer.
A career change guided by meaning
From there, it became clear that together they could build a wine estate unlike any other: PUECH ROQUES. They decided to sign an innovative partnership agreement: all three would be owners of the estate, and in 10 years, Arnaud would gradually buy 100% of the shares.
"It's a life experience as much as a wine-growing project," Arnaud emphasizes. "We learn, we build, we pass on our knowledge. That's what gives us real satisfaction!"
A rare model, between realistic utopia and active transmission
Behind the creation of the Puech Roques estate lies the culmination of a rare approach in the world of wine: a conscious desire for reasoned transmission, with horizontal governance and no commercial profit motive. Christine and Stéphane are not looking to generate immediate margins. This is proof of a commitment focused on people rather than profit.
Reviving the iconic grape varieties of the South-West
On the 4 hectares cultivated organically (the goal is 8 hectares by 2030!), the team has begun to revive the historic grape varieties of southwestern France: Mauzac, Duras, and Braucol. The approach is deliberately modern, environmentally friendly, and deeply focused on sharing. The estate's credo: sincere, accessible wines to be enjoyed with friends or family.
Support from TERRA HOMINIS micro-investors
Puech Roques also embodies a collective adventure. In partnership with the mission-driven company Terra Hominis, the estate has launched a crowdfunding campaign to expand the estate: more than 80 micro-investors, brought together in an independent company, have already responded to the call to finance 5.5 hectares of new plots. The land is leased, with rent paid in bottles, creating both an emotional and economic bond around the project.
